The "historical books" of the Old Testament are the twelve books that follow the Pentateuch: Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther.
They narrate the history of ancient Israel from the entry into Canaan through the return from Babylonian exile.
