James 3:17 in the King James Version reads:
17But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

The chapter warns about the dangers of teaching and the destructive power of the tongue, contrasting earthly wisdom marked by strife with heavenly wisdom that produces peace and righteousness.
