Deborah was a prophetess and one of the judges of Israel, who led the nation to victory over Jabin king of Canaan alongside the commander Barak, recorded in Judges 4-5.

Judges 4:4-5 in the King James Version reads:

4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. 5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.

These verses introduce Deborah at the opening of Judges 4. Read it in context at Judges 4:4-5, or the full chapter at Judges 4. Encyclopedia entry: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deborah.
