Samson was one of the judges of Israel, a Nazarite from birth known for extraordinary physical strength and for conflict with the Philistines, recorded in Judges 13-16.
Judges 13:24 in the King James Version reads:
And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him.
