Nehemiah 8:10
10Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
The King James Version associates joy with God's presence, salvation, and the fruit of the Spirit.
10Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
11Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
5For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
24This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
22And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
13Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
4Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
2My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;3Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
8Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:9Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
