The Septuagint (often abbreviated LXX) is an ancient Greek translation of the Hebrew Old Testament, produced by Jewish scholars in Alexandria beginning in roughly the third century BC.

It was the version of the Old Testament most widely used in the first-century Greek-speaking world, and many Old Testament quotations in the New Testament follow its wording. See Septuagint.
